Jenni is a registered psychologist with over 25 years experience in the community mental health field, including over ten years as a psychologist in acute psychiatric care settings. She has now been in private practice as a psychologist for the last ten years, and currently sees clients in Canberra and Bega.
Jenni uses a very client-centred approach, exploring with her clients what their issues are and helping them to clarify their therapeutic goals. She aims to strike a balance between offering a safe space in which people can talk, feel listened to and express/explore their feelings, whilst also providing structured interventions and guidance. Her aim is that clients can discover new frameworks for understanding their dilemmas, learn and practice new skills, choose to make real and lasting changes in their lives and realize more of their full potential.
Jenni works with a very wide range of client issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, sexuality (including gender identity and LGBTQI issues), major mental illness, PTSD/ trauma and high functioning Autism. She is trained and experienced in a broad range of treatment approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma Recovery, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness Training.
